The main objectives of the BIP are:

  1. Introduction to Sustainability: An Examination of the Fundamentals. The participants will investigate the fundamental concepts of sustainability, including its definition and dimensions, namely environmental, social, and economic. The programme will facilitate the clarification of common misconceptions, a comparison of linear and circular economies, and an examination of the principles of circularity. The day will conclude with a group challenge, the objective of which is to facilitate team-building and collaborative problem-solving.
  2. The Sustainable Future: The Intersection of Management and Technology. This topic will introduce the role of management and technology in achieving sustainability goals. The participants will be instructed in the processes of measuring and monitoring sustainability efforts, the identification of key performance indicators (KPIs), and the formulation of effective measurement plans. Furthermore, team-building activities will be incorporated to cultivate collaboration and communication competencies.
  3. Sustainability in Action: A Practical Experience. The programme will include practical applications of sustainability concepts through site visits. They will visit organisations to observe the practical application of sustainability practices. Moreover, museum visitors will offer historical context and insights into local sustainability initiatives, thereby enhancing their comprehension of the practical challenges and achievements associated with their implementation in the real world.
  4. The Role of Sustainable Reporting in Building Trust. This topic will concentrate on the significance of transparent and responsible sustainability reporting. The participants will gain insight into the essential components of effective sustainability reporting, engage in comparative analysis of responsibility and sustainability reports, identify common reporting challenges, and investigate best practices, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the role of external audits. Furthermore, they will address the challenges associated with sustainability reporting.
  5. Business Analysis Challenge: participants will integrate their learning through a business analysis challenge, applying their knowledge to address authentic sustainability concerns. This will culminate in the presentation of the analyses conducted and the proposed solutions, which will serve to reinforce the participants’ practical understanding and problem-solving skills.
